Why I do what I do....
Get to Know Jodi
Jodi has over 25 years of experience working with dogs, scaling teeth and trimming nails. But why does she do what she does with such passion?
"I love my dogs, and seeing the difference a clean mouth and proper nails makes for them, but it's the greater picture that motivates me to grow the business"
In June 2023 she felt a call to go to Africa and come January 2024 she was off to Uganda for six weeks! Her work includes Women's Ministry and personal care needs and helping to teach farming...
There are still girls missing and quitting school due to lack of menstrual hygiene. This first trip she taught about 150 girls and women to sew their own menstrual pad."
After I said yes to teach at the first school I realized - I would have to supply all of the materials, not just the know how" Through donations this was made possible! And the best part, since Jodi's return to Canada four locations have continued teaching the ladies and girls with materials provided. "I have the contacts in Kampala to purchase material, so we can support the Ugandan economy and provide local materials. I am teaching the girls to fish, but financially they still need to be supplied with a fishing pole..." Jodi arrived back to Canada thinking - how can this be funded? And God provided the answer - grow Doggy Dental. Originally a side gig for word of mouth referred clients Doggy Dental is now being used to fund the women's ministry and help the girls! So not only is she helping people and their pet's here in Calgary, the proceeds are going to a much bigger cause!
